What is the best alarm clock for a VERY heavy sleeper?

December 1, 2009 by admin Leave a reply »

My boyfriend is getting his own place and I’m looking for an alarm clock for him. He is a very heavy sleeper and doesn’t hear his alarm clock, which is almost deafening to me. I’m afriad that he will be late for work every day. Does anyone have any suggestions?

There is an alarm clock i think they sell them at Target, but when it goes off, it shoots a little disk in the air across the room and unless you go get it and put it back on the clock it wont shut up lol its loud and it makes you get out of bed! Good Luck!

Truckstops sell something called a Screaming Meamie. They are obnoxious, but they work.

My husband has the same problem. So he looked online at a place that has alarm clocks for the deaf. I can hear this sucker from the other end of the house. And… it has a palm sized piece that vibrates as well. When the alarm goes off, that piece that you have wrapped around your head board or night stand will vibrate like crazy and the alarm will pierce your ears. He now gets up before the alarm goes off!! Works wonders

My daughter wears hearing aides and doesn’t hear a regular alarm. We purchased an alarm for the hard of hearing. It is really loud and wakes her up every time. It also has a vibrator that one places under ones pillow. When the loud alarm goes off, the vibrator buzzes and vibrates too. It’s like a back up and it really helps. Check out alarm clocks for the hard of hearing. Good luck.

There are some cool alarm clocks at http://www.thinkgeek.com. Some run away from you until you can catch it and turn it off, and I think one goes under your mattress and makes it vibrate when the alarm goes off.

Whatever alarm clock he gets should be placed across the room so he has to drag his butt out of bed to turn it off. That way he has a better chance of not hitting snooze and going back to sleep.

Think and imagine the scene: hung for a hook on the head a small bucket with a litlle tube, a solenoid valve and a shower, a timer opens the valve and gives a little bath of cold water on the sleepy . ahahahahah

some of the machanical ‘old fashioned’ ones have a horribly shrill and alerting clanging bell sound, placing it out of arms reach is a good tip so he has to get up to stop it!
